As we all know Nepal is the birth place of Lord budda  who is  known as  THE LIGHT OF ASIA .  A quick visit to the buddha Birthplace has a lot  significance while you are in Nepal as it is many things to offer to the visitors . Visiting this holy place is an expereince of liftime  This program is designed to withstand your interest of enjoying the heritage, buddhism  and jungle safari all together while you are in Nepal . This connects the medieval architecture  of kathmandu valley to  birthplace of Buddha “Lumbini” and ultimately  to the flora and fauna  of  Chitwan National park . Nepal is among the very few luckiest countries in the world which despite its smaller land size , has lots to offer to the visitors  from mountains  to  Plains , heritage &  culture, jungles and rivers , greeenary  to serenity.

Nepal is not only  the country of Hills and mountains  but it also has the splendid  beauty of our National park .While you are here  you will experience an amazing  jungle safari  which includes  Elephant ride, Jeep ride, canoe ride, village walk, jungle walk  etc.  You are almost definite to see one  horn rhino, different types of monkeys ,deer, crocodiles ,wild boars , species of birds  and perhaps even a tiger .

Perhaps the most memorable and unique aspect of this trip is visiting  the Buddha Birth Place , a place to peace and enlightenment.

Brief Itinerary :

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu ( 1300 m/4260 ft ) .

Day 2 : Full day sightseeing  of Kathmandu

Day 3 : Kathmandu – Lumbini  flight  (35 minutes )

Day 4 : Lumbini – Chitwan drive 

Day 5 : In Chitwan

Day 6 : Chitwan – Kathmandu

Day 7 : Departure


Deatailed Itinerary :

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

On Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport ( TIA ) in Kathmandu you will be  met and greeted by Global Asia Tours & Travel’s represenatative  and transferred to your centrally located hotel .  After brief rest  you will be taken for a quick city tours  covering  Swayambhunath /Monkey temple ( 2000 years) Buddhist stupa .  After this  we visit  (time permiting ) Kathmandu Durbar Square, the cultural center of Kathmandu valley  where the world’s only living goddess  KUMARI is housed.  Evening  Typical Nepalese dinner with dance .   Overnight at the hotel .

Day 2 : Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu .

After breakfast at the hotel  you will be met by our guide for the full day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley covering  PASHUPATINATH, BOUHDANATH & PATAN .

First in the morning we visit  to Pashupatinath  , the holiest hindu temple  situated at the bank of Bagmati river . This is one of the most sacred Hindu temple  in the world dedicated to lordg Shiva.  This temple exist to 200 years  BC  . Near the temple  we can see the crematoriums in the bank of Bagmati river  where local hindus observe the death rituals.  From here we continue to tour to  Boudhanath which is the largest  stupa in the world . It looms 36 m high with 4 paits of eyes facing th four cardinal  driections .  It was built in 5th Century  in an octagonal foundation representing Mandala ( Lotus ) .  Thousands of people from Tibetan origin live in this area  and there dozens of massive Tibetan Monasteries.  From here we  visit to  Patan , the city of  arts and architecture . Enchanting rows of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples makes this city more beautiful. The interesting things to see here are Local Bazaar, Palace square, Krishna temple, Patan museum, stone fountains, Golden temple , Kumbheswar temple, Mahaboudha temple (temple of 9000 Buddhas) . Evening free and overnight at the  hotel .

Day 3 : Kathmandu – Lumbini (Bhairawa) flight (35 minutes )

After breakfast transfer to Kathmandu  airport  for your flight  to  Bhairawa.  On arrival drive for about 45 minutes to reach Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha . Check in at the hotel . PM : visit sacred Lumbini garden which spread over 8 Square kilometers and possesses all the traeasures of the historic era. Today as part of the global initiative to promote Lumbini many countries have builit their temples ,monasteries and stupas near the sacred garden  in the international monastic zone.  Your visit include Maya Devi Temple, Ashokan Pillar,Sacred pond Puskarini, eternal peace flame,water canal, ancient archeological ruins & a number of international monasteries . Apart from the above we also visit Buddhist Mueseum , Research institute,IUCN wetland, World Peace stupa, etc.  Overnight at the Hotel .

§  Maya Devi Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple situated at the

UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lumbini, It is the main temple, a site considered the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. This temple  has housed the BIRTH MARK STONE of  BUDDHA .

§  The Ashoka Pillar: The Indian emperor Ashok visited Lumbini in 249 BC and erected  this pillar  where he has inscribed the story of his journey  in Pali language . This pillar was restored by Khadga SUMSER in 1895.

§  The Puskarni Pond is where Queen Mayadevi, the Buddha’s mother, took a bath before giving birth Siddhartha Gautam ( later buddha )  

§  World Peace Pagoda: built by Japanese Buddhists monks

NB: If any time constraint  to finish the above we will  also visit the remaining  sights next morning .

Day 4 : Lumbini - Chitwan drive (103 kms) : 3 hrs

Morning after breakfast we drive to Chitwan (103 kms. 3 hrs).  Enroute Guest  can visit  incredible  Temple  known as SASWAT DHAM . On arrival check in at the hotel and activity  briefing by the camp manager . Lunch will be served .   PM :  Elephant briefing . Late afternoon village  walk /bullock cart ride  to the surrounding  farmland/viallge . Evening overnight at the resort .

Day 5: In Chitwan

Early morning wake up call and tea , coffee/cookies will be served .  Later elephant  back safari  in the jungle . During this safari  there are plenty of opportunity   to see  one horn rhino, deer, monkeys, wild boar,  bears,peacocks , various species of birds and  perhaps even a tiger . On return you will have your breakfast  at the resort .

In the afternoon  depending on the season : Afternoon: depending upon the season, elephant bathing will be held on the Rapti River, and you are welcome to join in giving the elephants a scrub.


PM: After Lunch  you will be taken for a traditional dug-out canoe on the Rapti river. On this silent river ride you will get an opportunity to view aquatic birds and see animals on the river banks. And at the end  we will visit Gharial (Crocodile) Breeding Centre.  From this place nature walk  in the jungle and back to the  resort .  Evening  dinner followed by Tharu Cultural Dance . Overnight at the resort .

Day 6 : Chitwan to Kathmandu drive ( 17 kms /6 hrs )

Time permiting , we go for bird watching to the nearby community forest. Chitwan is the home to over 450 species of birds .   Later Drive to Kathmandu (175 km)  enroute OPTIONAL  cable car ride to manakamana temle situated at the hilltop .

Later continue driving to Kathmandu . Time permiting , visit  Thamel/ indrachowk / ason  for  shopping . Evening farewell nepalese dinner with dance .  Overnight at the hotel .

Day 7 : Departure

Morning sunrise over the himalayas  . Later  you will be transferred to the airport in time to connect your flight back home .  Warm farewell with Farewell scarf .
