Tibet, is situated on the northern side of the Himalayas, is an autonomous region of China. It’s nicknamed the “Roof of the World” for its towering peaks. It shares Mt. Everest with Nepal. Its capital, Lhasa, is site of hilltop Potala Palace, and Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s spiritual heart, revered for its golden statue of the young Buddha.

This tour will lead through the ancient city of Lhasa to the Everest base camp .
The Potala Palace dominates the skyline with its powerful and ancient architecture. The numerous temples and monasteries surrounding the city, such as the Jokhang and Drepung, allow travelers to experience Tibetan Buddhism first hand.
This trip offers the picturesque views, amazing himalayas, deep inside into the tibetan culture, history , buddhism and monasteries.This program covers the entire historical landmarks like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung monastery, sera monastery,Gyngtse Kumbum monastery and Shigatse Tashi Lunpho monastery ,Tsedang, & Yarlung valley .The last part of our journey is spent in exploring the Yarlung Valley, or valley of the tombs. The last part of our journey is the visit to Everest base camp & it is the highlight of this trip.
ITINERARY
Day 01 Fly or train into Lhasa [3680m]
Day 02 Visit Jorkhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Sera Monastery in Lhasa
Day 03 Visit Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery in Lhasa
Day 04 Drive Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyangtse. Visit Yamdrok Lake, Gyangtse Dzong, Kumbum.
Day 05 Drive Shigatse to Roungbuk, visit Thashilungbu Monastery, Rongbuk Monastery.
Day 06 Visit Everest Base Camp then drive back to Shigatse.
Day 07 Drive Shigatse to Tsethang.
Day 08 Visit Samye Monastery, Yarlung Valley Yungbulakang Palace, Tanddruk Monastery.
Day 09 Departure !
Detail Itinerary:
On arrival in Lhasa you will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day for acclimatization and free to explore the surroudings . Today you will visit the most reverred Jokhang Temple. You will also visit Barkhor Bazaar , the most crowded market place in Lhasa. Later in the afternoon you will visit 15th century Sera Monastery. This monastery is famous for the monks debating. Today you will visit Potala Palace the landmark of Tibet . It has been a palace since the fifth or sixth century and was once home to the Dalai Lama. Later we will visit Drepung Monastery , one of the largest monastery in the world which once housed 10000 Monks. Today you will cross over 5000 m Khambo La and Kharo La and Yamdrok Tso lake. On reacing Guangtse, you will visit Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyangtse Dzong works as the view tower offering great views of the valley. Later you will visit Kumbum tupa, full of Tibetan Murals and beautiful architecture . After the visit in Gyantse you will drive to Shigatse, the second largest city in tibet. Morning you will explore the Thashilungpo Monastery,one of the largest monastery in Tibet . In the afternoon you will descend into the Rongbuk Valley and you will have good view of Mt everest . Morning you will drive 8 kilometeres to Everest Base Camp, and it It is a truly breath taking experience to look at the world’s highest mountain .In the afternoon, drive back to Shigatse, and enjou nature, culture and beauty of tibet. Morning after breakfast you will drive to Tsethang. It is another beautiful day to enjoy the beautiful mountain view and scenic drive . You will crossYarlung Zangpo River and visit Samye Monastery, Tak a deep view of the valley from the Yungbulakang Palace. Later visit Tibetan kings tombs, the burial grounds and interesting Tanddruk Monastery one of the oldest monastery in Tibet . Transfer to the airport in time to connect your international flight .
