Trip overview :
This trip takes you to the beautiful templels and ancient palaces of Kathmandu valley to the screne chepang heritage trail and ultimately you go and enjoy the wilderness of Chitwan National Park.
Little bit of heritage and architecture , Little bit of Trekking, little bit of white water rafting and adventure and little bit of flora and fauna . In total this makes a perfect tour of lifetime experiences and happiness .
The chepang Heritage trek is unique in nature than the regular treks. It offers an incredible opportunity to meet lovely people of rural Nepal, stay at their houses as family, taste their local drink, see their daily living, culture, experience the local hospitality, enjoy some of the most spectacular mountain views, heritage sites along the way. Money spent here contributes directly to the local livelihood. This trip gives you insight into the Chepangs the last huting gatherars of Nepal . The trek is definitely off the beaten track and you will see very few people alognt he route . Please be prepared to experience the minimum basic facilities of accomodation during the trek . This tour is little bit of everything uniquley combined with temples, mountains, lakes,rivers and jungles . You will be able to figure out what rest of the nepal is all about .
After the trek we will be taken down Chitwan to enjoy the nature and wildlife including one horn rhinos, Royal Bengal tiger , crocodiles deers and more . Riding on an Elephant back , silent ride on the dugout canoe in the Rapti river will offer you experiences of lifefime. Finally we fly back to kathmandu and stay in a beautiful heritage town called Bhaktpur ( Bhadgaon ) for g o to the lake city of Pokhara to enjoy the lakes and himalayan vistas .
Brief Itinerary :
Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m/4260 ft ) .
Day 2 : Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu
Day 3 : Kathmandu to Kurintar drive ( enroute optional White water rafing )
Day 4: Kurintar to Hugdi drive / Hugdi to – Hattibang
Day 5 : Hattibang – Jautesh – Changa – Dinglang – Jyandala . Overnight at Jyandala
Day 6 : Jyandala – Siraichuli ( 1945 m ) – Chisapanitar – Gadi (1280 M )
Day 7 : Trek to Shaktikhor and drive to Chitwan
Day 8 : In Chitwan
Day 9 : In Chitwan
Day 10 : Chitwan ( Bharatpur ) to Kathmandu flight .and driv to Bhaktpaur ( Bhadgaon ) . City tours and Evening free .

Detailed Itinerary :
On Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport ( TIA ) in Kathmandu you will be met and greeted by Global Asia Tours & Travel’s represenatative and transferred to your centrally located hotel . After brief rest you will be taken for a quick city tours covering Swayambhunath /Monkey temple ( 2000 years) Buddhist stupa . After this we visit (time permiting ) Kathmandu Durbar Square, the cultural center of Kathmandu valley where the world’s only living goddess KUMARI is housed. Evening Typical Nepalese dinner with dance . Overnight at the hotel .
After breakfast at the hotel you will be met by our guide for the full day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley covering PASHUPATINATH, BOUHDANATH & PATAN .
First in the morning we visit to Pashupatinath , the holiest hindu temple situated at the bank of Bagmati river . This is one of the most sacred Hindu temple in the world dedicated to lordg Shiva. This temple exist to 200 years BC . Near the temple we can see the crematoriums in the bank of Bagmati river where local hindus observe the death rituals. From here we continue to tour to Boudhanath which is the largest stupa in the world . It looms 36 m high with 4 paits of eyes facing th four cardinal driections . It was built in 5th Century in an octagonal foundation representing Mandala ( Lotus ) . Thousands of people from Tibetan origin live in this area and there dozens of massive Tibetan Monasteries. From here we visit to Patan , the city of arts and architecture . Enchanting rows of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples makes this city more beautiful. The interesting things to see here are Local Bazaar, Palace square, Krishna temple, Patan museum, stone fountains, Golden temple , Kumbheswar temple, Mahaboudha temple (temple of 9000 Buddhas) . Evening free and overnight at the hotel .
Morning after breakfast drive to Kurintar . OPTIONAL White water Rafting in the Trishuli river for 03 hours. Cruising down a rushing river in an inflatable rubber raft over crashing waves and swirling rapids offer the excitement of a lifetime . Later transfer to the hotel in Kurinater . Time permiting clients may choose to take the cable car ride manakamana temple or client may take the guided village walk across the Trishuli river. Overnight at the hotel situated at the bank of Trishuli river .
After breakfast, we drive to Hugdi Khola. This begins as the moderate trek in the beginning and becomes little difficult later while going up. The trail from Hugdi, climbs up through sections of broadleaf forest along the terraced fields carved into the hillsides in fascinating patterns. We pass by large groves of orange trees and are treated to excellent views of the Trishuli Valley . We continue heading to Hattibang a community mixed with Magars, Gurungs, Giripuris as well as Chepangs. We can enjoy the cultural diversity here. The interesting thing to see here is the elephant shaped stone thast the village is named after . Overnight at the local home stay.
Early morning after local breakfast we walk towards Jyandala village and enroute you will see beautiful chepang settlements inelcluding Jautesh village , changa dada, Dinglang and your will enjoy the spectacular views of mountains. There will be the incredible views of sunrise and sunset from these areas . You arrive Jyandala and from here you can see some of the world highest peaks including Dhaulagiri, Rolwaling, Gaurishanker, Langtang, Gorkha Himal, Peak 29, Himalchuli, Manaslu, Annapurna . Not only this you also see the southern plains from here which is less than 100 m from the see level. Here We can take a tour around the village and observe their cultivation, local stone and mud houses. We can taste the Chepang foods including the ones collected from the local forest. A typical Chepang cuisine “Dhindo” served with a vegetable curry of eggplant, string beans, leafy greens, potatoes, wild yams, or nettles. Overnight at the local lodge/home stay.
Viewing mountains, sunrise or sunset at Siraichuli. Birdwatching at Chasipanitar. Trekking from Chisapanitar to Gadi. Observing historical fort at Gadi are some of the incredible experiences.
Early morning we proceed from Jandala with Pack breakfast to Siraichuli for Sunrise over the himalayas. We continue walking until we arrive at Chisapani. The trail moves up and downhill through dense forest full of birdlife and mammals. After the long day of hiking, we arrive at Chisapani. There is another Chepang community nearby to a several hundred year old artillery fortress built in early 1800 by a grandson of king Prithivi Narayan Shah of Nepal. The visit of an Octagonal artillery fort, featuring a 6 feet moat, 20 feet stone walls and of 15 feet main door, once served as a headquarters of the regional government. We can view the adjacent hills and Chitwan valley below. The settlements here in Uppedang Gadi is Gurungs and Chepangs. Overnight at the local lodge/home stay .
We trek downhill to Shaktikhor from Upperdang Gadhi which takes about 4 hours through the dense Sal forest. We can visit Chepang Museum and Visitor’s Information Center. The waterfalls and caves around Shaktikhor can be visited. Then, we can proceed to Chitwan National Park for Jungle safari and overnight . On arrival in Chitwna check in at the hotel and activity briefing by the camp manager . Lunch will be served . PM : Elephant briefing . Late afternoon village walk /bullock cart ride to the surrounding farmland/viallge . Evening overnight at the resort .
Early morning wake up call and tea , coffee/cookies will be served . Later elephant back safari in the jungle . During this safari there are plenty of opportunity to see one horn rhino, deer, monkeys, wild boar, bears,peacocks , various species of birds and perhaps even a tiger . On return you will have your breakfast at the resort .
In the afternoon depending on the season : Afternoon: depending upon the season, elephant bathing will be held on the Rapti River, and you are welcome to join in giving the elephants a scrub.
PM: After Lunch you will be taken for a traditional dug-out canoe on the Rapti river. On this silent river ride you will get an opportunity to view aquatic birds and see animals on the river banks. And at the end we will visit Gharial (Crocodile) Breeding Centre. From this place nature walk in the jungle and back to the resort . Evening dinner followed by Tharu Cultural Dance . Overnight at the resort .
Morning brief jungle walk . Afternoon jeep ride at the national park to expereienc the wilderness of the jungle . You might come across the one horn rhinos, peacocks, wildboars, deers, monkeys, various species of birds (Chitwan is the home to over 450 species of birds) and if you are lucky of course royal bengal tiger . Chitwan national park is the largest national park of Nepal and offers incredible opportunity to enjoy the flora and fauna .
Morning after breakfast transfer to the local domestic airport to fly to Kathmandu . On arrival transfer to Bhaktapur ( bhadgaon ) to visit the most preserved heritage city of Kathmandu valley . In the soft and dusty light of the evening the old city of Bhaktapur, with its pagoda roofs, and its harmonious blend of wood, mud brick and copper , looked extrordinarily beautiful . Durbar squares , quiet streets of bhaktapur dozens of pagoda style of temples makes this city very very special and a Must visit for the travellers. Overnight stay in Bhaktapur .
Transfer to the airport in time to connect the international flight ,
