Overview :
RamNavami is a spring Hindu festival that Celebrates the birthday of God Ram . He is Particularly important to the Vaishanbism tradition of Hinduism, as the seventh avatar of Vishnu.
It is celebrated mostly fondly by Nepali people, visiting nearby temple of Lord Ram with flowers and other offerings. For Hindus, Lord Ram symbolizes “the ideal man”. His victory overn Ravan is seen as the manifestation of good over evil even in the most dire situations.
Ram or Vishnu temples all over Kathmandu valley and in different parts of Nepal are thronged with devotees on this day. Ram Mandir in Battisputali, Changu Narayan in Bhaktapur, and Budhanilkantha Temple, Ichangu Narayan and Bichangu Narayan in Kathmandu outskirts are filled with devotees on this day. The Ram Janaki Temple in Janakpur hosts thousands of visitors on this day and Ramnavami is mainly celebrated . The celebration is very special here because the Ram’s wife Sita is said to be from this town of Janakpur . Landmark of Janakpur is the Janaki Temle , a palatial confection of building in the Mughal Style , the temple is supposed to mark the spot where a golden image of Sita was discovered in 1657 and presumably, where the virtuous princess actually lived. The temple is named after the king Janak , the father of princess Sita .
After janakpur visit to Chitwan National Park is absoulately significant and interesting . We will spend next two days sightsing the wildlife .
Brief Itinerary :
Day 1 (20 March 19 ) : Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m/4260 ft ) . PM: Half day Sightseeing . Overnight at the hotel in Bhaktapur
Day 2 (21 March 19): Fullday tours of UNESCO Heritage sites
Day 3 (22 March 19 ) : Fly form Kathmandu to Janakpur
Day 4 (23 March19 ) : Free day in Janakpur

Detail Itinerary :
On Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu you will be met and greeted by Global Asia Tours & Travel’s represenatative and transferred to your centrally located hotel . After brief rest you will be taken for a quick city tours covering Swayambhunath /Monkey temple ( 2000 years) Buddhist stupa . After this we visit (time permiting ) Kathmandu Durbar Square, the cultural center of Kathmandu valley where the world’s only living goddess KUMARI is housed. Evening Typical Nepalese dinner with dance . Overnight at the hotel . After breakfast at the hotel you will be met by our guide for the full day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley covering PASHUPATINATH, BOUHDANATH & PATAN . First in the morning we visit to Pashupatinath , the holiest hindu temple situated at the bank of Bagmati river . This is one of the most sacred Hindu temple in the world dedicated to lordg Shiva. This temple exist to 200 years BC . Near the temple we can see the crematoriums in the bank of Bagmati river where local hindus observe the death rituals. From here we continue to tour to Boudhanath which is the largest stupa in the world . It looms 36 m high with 4 paits of eyes facing th four cardinal driections . It was built in 5th Century in an octagonal foundation representing Mandala ( Lotus ) . Thousands of people from Tibetan origin live in this area and there dozens of massive Tibetan Monasteries. From here we visit to Patan , the city of arts and architecture . Enchanting rows of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples makes this city more beautiful. The interesting things to see here are Local Bazaar, Palace square, Krishna temple, Patan museum, stone fountains, Golden temple , Kumbheswar temple, Mahaboudha temple (temple of 9000 Buddhas) . Evening free and overnight at the hotel. Morning after breakfast fly from Kathmandu to Janakpur the eastern Mithila town of Nepal which is indisputably the Terai’s most fascinating city ofen called Janakpurdham ( holy city ) . The landmark of Janakpur is Janaki temple , the moghul style temple now is the UNESCO world heritage site . The stories of famous Epic Ramarayan are also derived from Janakpur . Other places to visit are RAM SITA Vivah Mandap ( wedding platform ) a place where Lord Ram and Princess Sita tied nuptical knots . Apart from the above Janakpur is known for Holy ponds such as Dhanush Sagar, Ganga Sagar . For 3000 years , Brahman women of the region once know as Mithila have maintained as unbroken tradition of Mithila arts /Paintings . Overnight at the hotel . From early moring various celebartion on the birth of Lord Ram . He was born on the ninth day of Chaitra( March /april ) and this day is celebrated by all the Hindus as the RAM NAVAMI . People celebrate this festival going in Large number from one temple to another. Special Bhajan (Rhymes)/kirtan are performed during this festival . It will be lifetime experience for us to observe all this festivities. Overnight at the hotel in Janakpur . Morning after breafkast we drive to Chitwan for Jungle safari. . On arrival in Chitwna check in at the hotel and activity briefing by the camp manager . Lunch will be served . PM : Elephant briefing . Late afternoon village walk /bullock cart ride to the surrounding farmland/viallge . Evening overnight at the resort . Early morning wake up call and tea , coffee/cookies will be served . Later elephant back safari in the jungle . During this safari there are plenty of opportunity to see one horn rhino, deer, monkeys, wild boar, bears,peacocks , various species of birds and perhaps even a tiger . On return you will have your breakfast at the resort . In the afternoon depending on the season : Afternoon: depending upon the season, elephant bathing will be held on the Rapti River, and you are welcome to join in giving the elephants a scrub. PM: After Lunch you will be taken for a traditional dug-out canoe on the Rapti river. On this silent river ride you will get an opportunity to view aquatic birds and see animals on the river banks. And at the end we will visit Gharial (Crocodile) Breeding Centre. From this place nature walk in the jungle and back to the resort . Evening dinner followed by Tharu Cultural Dance . Overnight at the resort . Time permiting , we go for bird watching to the nearby community forest. Chitwan is the home to over 450 species of birds . Later Drive to Pokhara (165 km) the lake city of Nepal . Tony Hagen, a known Swiss Geologist who has walked over 14000 kilometers in Nepal called it “ one of the most extraoridinary and beautiful places in the whole world” Later drive back to Kathmandu enroute cable car ride to Manakamana temple . Arrive Kathmandu in the evening . Farewell dinner . Over night at the hotel . Morning free until Departure . Later transfer to the airport in time connect the international flight .
